Lionel Messi scored the only goal as Barcelona clinched the La Liga title courtesy of a 1-0 win at Atletico Madrid on Sunday.
The Argentine international traded passes with Pedro Rodrigues before smashing his low shot into the corner five minutes after the hour mark to hand the Catalans their 23rd Spanish top flight title.
The win means Louis Enrique’s men now boasts an unassailable 4-point lead over Real Madrid with one match to go.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat-trick in Real’s 1-4 win at Espanyol but it was insufficient to halt Barca’s celebration at neighbouring Vicente Calderon, where the Baulgranas ran on to the pitch after the final whistle.

Barca ended without winning a trophy under Gerardo Martinez last season, but Enriquez has done well to turn things around at the Nou Camp months after succeeding the Argentine tactician.
Barcelona’s success might as well be attributed to the predatory form of their front-three, Neymar, Luis Suarez and Messi- who have scored a total of 115 goals between them so far in the current campaign.
Barca, who will host Deportivo La Coruna at home on the final match day of the season, have 108 league goals to their credit so far this season, with Messi alone contributing 41.
