President Jonathan opens Defence radio in Abuja barracks

President Goodluck on Friday inaugurated a radio station, owned by the Defence Headquarters, Defence Radio 107.7 FM of the Armed Forces Radio Services, in Abuja.

The radio station is located inside the Mogadishu Cantonment, Abuja.

Jonathan said the Radio Station, which is said to be first of its kind in West Africa, would play a crucial role in informing the public about the activities of the Armed Forces.

The President, who commended the Armed Forces for their resilience in the fight against insurgency in the North-East, condemned negative and unproductive criticisms against the military.

He said while it was important to criticise, such an action should not be taken to weaken troops morale.
