Fayose Threatening My Life – Senator

The Senator representing Ekiti Central District, Babafemi Ojudu, has alleged that Governor Ayo Fayose, who is battling to stave off impeachment from 19 lawmakers of the All Progressives Congress, is threatening his life.

According to the senator, Gov. Fayose, through his media aide, Lere Olayinka, is threatening his life and that of the Speaker of the State Assembly, Adewale Omirin.

Ojudu, on his facebook page, said “Mr Lere Olayinka who serves as media goon to Governor Fayose of Ekiti published my name, telephone numbers and that of the speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly Omirin on his Facebook page.

“He similarly sent out bulk SMS to people of Ekiti State. In the posting on his page he said I am responsible for the attempt to impeach his boss because I wanted to be governor and therefore called on the governor’s supporters to put calls through to my phone lines and threaten me with death.

“I have since received hundreds of such calls in the last 24 hours. And I am still receiving more”, Mr. Ojudu said Monday evening.

The senator said while he was not afraid of the plot, he needs to bring the matter to the public domain and for law enforcement agencies to take note.

“Tomorrow I am heading to the office of the Inspector General of Police to lodge a complaint on this threat to life. Should anything untoward happen to me, Governor Fayose and his goon, Lere Olayinka, should be held responsible”, he said.

Reacting to the allegation, Mr. Olayinka said his decision to post the phone numbers of Messrs Ojudu and Omirin does not amount to threat on their lives.

“He should put his mind at rest, no one is threatening him”, he said.

The governor’s aide said he was also a victim.

“My phone numbers were also posted by their people and I have been receiving calls for over seven hours now”, he said.

Mr. Olayinka said most of the callers insulted him for supporting Mr. Fayose.

Mr. Olayinka said “Phone numbers of prominent Nigerians have been posted on Facebook before and nothing happened. Why should his own be different?” he asked.
