50-Year-Old Man r*pes 12-Year-Old Girl In Osun

A 50-year-old man, Tajudeen Omole, was on Sunday arraigned before an Osogbo chief magistrate court by the Osun State Police command for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl. The accused person was said to have committed the offence on November 27.

According to TV Continental, the accused went to the house of the victim to see her sister, who he claimed was a friend. When he learnt that the sister was not home, he allegedly lured the victim into a room in the house where he defiled her.

The girl was said to have attempted to scream for help but was over-powered by Mr. Omole. She later narrated her ordeal to her neighbours who facilitated his arrest. The police prosecutor, Solomon Oladele, told the court that the offence committed was contrary to and punishable under Section 218 of the criminal code cap 34 vol II laws of Osun State, Nigeria, 2003.

The counsel to the accused, Okobe Nagite, applied for the bail of the accused person on liberal terms. The presiding magistrate, Olusola Aluko, in his ruling, however, ordered that the accused be remanded in Ilesha prison while the counsel to the accused should file a formal application for his bail.
