SCAM ALERT!: Read Blog Reader's Story

Hello Laila
I love you by the way (awww, thanks hun. Love you too. *winks*)…..
This happened to a friend of mine on Tuesday. There’s an online site in Nigeria where you can buy and sell your used or new product be it electronics or furniture. My friend is an apple freak, she loves apple products so she went to the site, she went there to look for cheap iphone 5s used or new.
She contacted a guy who told her he had a UK used iphone 5s for 35000 naira and she was happy because it was cheap. She called the same guy the next day being Tuesday to ask how she was going to get the phone, this guy told her to send 20000 naira to an account that he does home deliveries. According to her, she even spoke to his secretary (a woman) who confirmed that she will need to deposit N20,000 in order for them to put her name in the list of people they will make deliveries for and when they bring the phone, she will pay the balance; my friend lives in the States so she thought it will be that easy.
She went to the bank and paid in 20000 naira. She was told she would get the phone 2hrs after payment only for them to call her 4 hours later saying their car got into an accident and all the goods they wanted to deliver got destroyed…My dear, the girl was devastated, I told her to forget about it that she has been scammed..
So please Laila, help me warn my fellow TILB readers to beware, If the site is not Konga, Jumia or any other reliable site, please do not pay in money to anybody before you see the item… Laila please post this, people need to know…Thank you
