If reports on Channels Television are anything to go by, immediate past governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi may not be screened today as earlier informed by the senate.
The news medium reports that there are strong indications that the ex-governor, against whom several petitions have been submitted to the senate, may yet be exempted from the screening of the president’s ministerial nominees at the upper chambers of the National Assembly.

Amaechi’s screening seems to have been shifted to Tuesday, October 20, according to the report.
In a live programme on Thursday morning, George Akume, the Senate Minority Leader, also informed that the former governor will only be screened after reports from the petitions against him have been submitted by the Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions.
Senator Ogba Joseph, representing Ebonyi Central at the National Assembly, has revealed that the committee could not submit its report on the petitions against Amaechi because the screening sessions ended late and the committee members could not compile it.
Meanwhile, as it has postponed the sitting to Tuesday, October 20, 2015.
The senate said it postponed the sitting so that the issues on ground would be holistically attended to by the senators.
