PHOTOS: Boko Haram Abandon Food Items, Flee Into Sambisa Forest - Army
The Nigerian army on Sunday, October 11, said the terrorists in Nafari and Gonin Kurmi fled and abandoned their personal effects and food items as a result of the continued offensive against the insurgents.
The army spokesman Sani Usman in a statement said troops are gradually clearing all the terrorists’ known camps, enclaves and dens in the region.
“In a haste, they left various food items and personal effects as they fled to Sambisa forest,” Usman said.
He added that the military is working round the clock tightening the noose around the terrorists’ enclaves.

“Troops will continue the momentum until all terrorists and their camps are no more in any part of Nigerian territory,” he said.
Usman urged the public never to relent on cooperating with security
operatives especially in providing information that could help stall
the activities of the insurgents.
In March 2015, the Nigerian military released videos of its operation
around the Sambisa forest – the terrorists notorious hideout. The defence spokesperson at that time, Chris Olukolade said the military had been attacking the forest and other hideouts of the terror group as part of actions to suppress the terrorists.
