CACOL Commiserates with AIT

The Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders (CACOL) sincerely commiserates with you and the entire staff of DAAR Communication on the sad event of a fire incident which occurred in one of the studios of African Independent Television at its corporate headquarters this week.

It is quite disheartening that fire incidences have become the norms in our society these days. According to Punch, the Director of Fire Service, Rasak Fadipe said “The fire was caused by high voltage”. This could be traced to the ineptitude and nonchalant attitudes of the Power Company. Many have been rendered penniless and homeless because most of the Power Company workers are not doing their jobs rightly and the government is not holding them to it.

However, it is unfortunate that this is happening to the headquarters of a news medium that has been a great source of information, education and entertainment to the generality of Nigerians at home and abroad as an uncompromising watchdog in our society. It is gratifying that you did not break your transmission because of this huge setback, but we hope the resilient spirit would be maintained while we assure that majority of Nigerians will continue to support and wish you well.

We pray you find the courage, fortitude and inner strength to bear this great loss, surmount the present challenges and come out stronger than ever.

Kindly accept our heartfelt sympathy.

Yours Faithfully

Signed:
Debo Adeniran
Executive Chairman, CACOL
