78 year old man rapes 6 year old girl in Ebonyi

A man, 78, identified as Oji Nnachi of Ezi-Nkelu-Ezi in Ogwuma Edda in Afikpo south local government area of the state was last weekend report to have allegedly raped a six year old girl, Uchechi Uduma residing within the same locality.

Reacting to the incident, the father of the victim, Nnachi Ndukwe who expressed shock and disappointment over the development blamed the ugly episode on his ex-wife, Ogechi who left him and remarried without considering that the future and welfare of their daughter was a piority.

“I blame my wife for this ugly episode in my family; she left me over 9 years ago and remarried another man.

“Assuming my wife did not leave me to start living a care-free life with another man, my daughter wouldn’t have fallen into the hands of this old rapist”

Ndukwe accused the septuagenarian of being in the attitude of raping young girls in the community and called on the police to ensure that the suspect was arrested and prosecuted in line with laws of the land.

According to a family source, when the girl was discovered with stains of blood around her private part on the fateful day, it prompted the villagers to probe into the her condition as it was learned that the act was carried out by the old man.

Contacted, the state police spokesman, ASP Chris Anyanwu who stated that his office was yet to be furnished with the report of the incident added that any suspect arrested for committing such crime would be prosecuted according to the law.
