The State Security Services said on Wednesday that it was profiling political thugs and people with questionable characters across the country ahead of the general elections.
The spokesperson of the SSS, Marilyn Ogar, disclosed this while fielding questions at a news conference organised by the National Information Centre.
Ms. Ogar said suspected thugs would be arrested before the general election.
“There is profiling of those whose presence in certain areas cannot be easily and immediately explained.
“We profile all people with questionable character and before the election, they are taken in,” Ms. Ogar said.
On the incessant political thuggery in Rivers, the SSS’ spokeswoman said the service was investigating it.
“We are investigating. So, whatever happened will not go covered.
“Once you observe a new face, unexplained movement of people you do not know or sudden business concern cropping up around you, alert the security agencies”, she said.
