BREAKING NEWS: Suspected Boko Haram Terrorists Attack Gombe

Boko Haram is at the moment attacking Bajoga town in Gombe state, Premium Times reports.

A PREMIUM TIMES reporter could hear sounds of gunshots and explosion as he interviewed a resident of the town, who called him to inform about the attack.

“Sound of explosion and gunshots woke us up from sleep and we had to hurriedly leave to the outskirts of town where I am calling you from,” said the resident, who gave his name as Mr. Sunday.

A resident who told Daily Trust on the phone that the rampaging insurgents targeted public buildings including schools, police stations and local government secretariat.

Residents told Daily Trust that the insurgents came between 5-6am on December 4, 2014, Thursday, in about 30 hilux vans armed with an RPGs and other weapons chanting “Allahu Akbar”.

Engineer Haroun Mustapha on twitter with the handle @harmus informed his followers that residents are trapped in the state.

Bajoga is the capital of Nafada LG in Gombe state. It is about 70 kilometers from Gombe town, the state capital. It is also the town where Ashaka cement plant is located, and the Boko Haram sect raided on the plant last month during which carted away four Toyota Hilux vans packed with explosives.
