Boko Haram Plans To Attack Abuja

A plot by the deadly Boko Haram sect to attack Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, has been exposed.
THE SUN reports that the insurgents exactly plan to launch their first attack on Suleja, Niger State, near Abuja, Gwagwalada, Garki, Central Business District, targeting public buildings and installations among others.

However, some military sources say they are on the viewpoint for the militants who are planning to penetrate Abuja, through the Bwari/Kaduna, Abuja/Keffi, Abuja/Lokoja and Abuja/Kaduna axis.

The insider said the insurgents who have been put on checks since their last attack at the Nyanya bus terminal, have made several attempts to break the virtual peace in Abuja.
The source, who pledged to be anonymous, narrated how a number of the suspected Boko Haram members who tried to plant Improvised Explosive Device (IED), during the National Economic Summit were imprisoned.

The insurgents will reportedly have carried out at least 15 attacks on different parts of the FCT, since April if not for military.

The terrorists who are not giving up on the wicked plans, according to sources, said their commanders are sending in their foot soldiers to spy on the city and report back to them.
The military high command in Abuja to successfully fight the terrorists is said to have declared the redeployment of some rough officers to head some units in the FCT, even as more Rapid Response Squad units, have been set in virtually all the area councils in the nation’s capital to limit the threat of the insurgents.

Security is now concentrated on the satellite towns where the terrorists usually take shelter on arriving the city, while several snap security checkpoints have also been set up on all the entry and exit points to Abuja.

The army says the action was necessary to stop the Boko Haram members from taking advantage of the security lapses.

President Muhammadu Buhari, who assumed office on May 29 and recently marked 100 days, vowed to drive out Boko Haram from his country and crush it before yearend, but his government has so far failed in eliminating or even minimizing the extremist group’s threat to Christians and Muslims alike.
On 14 April 2014 two bombs exploded at a crowded bus station 8 km southwest of central Abuja killing at least 88 people and injuring at least 200.
