We Must Kill NNPC Before It Kills Nigeria, Says El-Rufai

While one of the popular slogans of President Muhammadu Buhari during his campaign was “if we don’t kill corruption, it [corruption] will Nigeria”, the Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has paraphrased the slogan.
Speaking at the 7th Wole Soyinka Centre Media Lecture series on Monday in Lagos, Gov. El-Rufai warned that the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, must be “killed” before it brings about Nigeria’s destruction.
El-Rufai, who was visibly angry at the activities of the state-run oil corporation, expressed the hope that the Buhari administration would see to the death of the NNPC.
“If you don’t kill NNPC, it kill Nigeria”, El-Rufai said.
In its place, the Kaduna State governor called for the setting up of another national oil firm.
