The 8 MAJOR differences between being in love and in lust – You need to know this!

Love, lust: it’s easy to confuse the two, especially in the early stages of a relationship. Both emotions make you feel a kind of bliss that you’ve never experienced before – which is wonderful and joyous and something to celebrate – but make sure you know the difference between the two. Need a little help? Here’s a few clues:

1. When you’re in lust, you dress to the NINES. Maybe even the TENS. Obviously, there’s no harm in trying to look good for your significant other, especially when you’re first courting each other. But we all know dressing (and looking) like you’re going to Fashion Week each time you step out for a date takes a sh*t-ton of effort, not to mention money!

When you’re in love, you might forget to wear pants. Are you wearing a shirt? Check. Shoes? Check. Pants? Oops! On those exciting Friday nights where you end up pacing the aisles of Costco to stock up on frozen pizzas and Lucky Charms cereal, comfort = love.

2. When you’re in lust, you look past their foolishness. Things are so hot & heavy, it’s easy to look past minor “annoyances” (that laugh, that money problem, that MOTHER) that may turn into larger issues down the road.
When you’re in love, you point out their mistakes. You love them, which is why you want them to be a better person. And if they love you, they’ll accept the (constructive) criticism and try to be a better person not just for you but for themselves, too.

3. When you’re in lust, you say what they want to hear. You constantly aim to please. When they ask you a question, you’re more apt to reply with a “safe” answer, even though it might not fully express how you feel. (You figure you’ll get to that later, right?)

When you’re in love, you keep it real. You don’t agree with everything they’re saying and you clearly state that. Having different views and opinions from your significant other doesn’t necessarily mean you’re not a good match; it just means that SHOCKER: You’re different people. And that’s okay. Healthy debate is good and normal and helpful at seeing things from another perspective.

4. When you’re in lust, the person you’re with is a Greek God/Goddess. Or rather, try this analogy: a perfectly-shaped cookie with no dents or chipped corners. But hate to break-it-to-you: even perfect-looking cookies have burnt sides (even if they’re not visible at first).
When you’re in love, they’re more like a Greek God/Goddess statue missing it’s arm. Perfectly imperfect, just like you! Pretending to be anything other than that is exhausting and oh: A LIE.

5. When you’re in lust, you don’t really know them. Sure, you know their favorite color is blue and their favorite food is macaroni and cheese. But that’s surface level-stuff. You haven’t dug down deep – and girl, that tunnel is LONG.
When you’re in love, you know small insignificant details. Their favorite color is blue because when they were little, it was their mother’s favorite color to dress them up in. Their favorite food is mac & cheese because it’s the comfort food their Grandma always made them when they went to visit. These small, seemingly insignificant details are intimate parts of their past and who they is. And you know all these little, beautiful factoids because you took the time to really get to know them – and better even, you still want to know more.

6. When you’re in lust, you don’t feel comfortable talking to them about your problems. Talking about your problem can help ease stress and tension. But you prefer to talk about them with someone you trust. And let’s face it, you’re just not at that ride-or-die stage yet.

When you’re in love, you’ll talk to them about, well, basically everything. You know you love someone when you can trust them with the most minor (and major!) issues you’re having, not matter how weird/trivial/embarrassing they are. You know that they’ll listen without judgement. That’s love.

7. When you’re in lust, silence is awkward. Which is either filled with rambling or make-out sessions. No objection to make-out sessions, of course, but the fact that you both find the silence awkward is a sign of discomfort.

When you’re in love, silence is welcomed.  When you run out of conversation topics, you don’t feel like you need to fill the silence with something else. You just let the silence sit comfortably. The void is welcome.

8. When you’re in lust, the future is unknown. Yes, you’re enjoying every moment you have with them right now. You love their attention, the dates, and the feeling of pure bliss. But when you look at the long run, you have absolutely no idea what the next few months (or years!) will hold. It’s a little scary.
When you’re in love, you welcome thoughts of the future. Whether you marry or not is up to you both, but can you see yourself sitting side-by-side on matching rickety rocking chairs? Does the idea of that give you something to look forward to? Do you picture bad vacations, fights over trivial things, and (gasp!) babies and can’t imagine anyone else taking this journey with you? Then, you’re totally and utterly in love.

We aren’t bus conductors that ask for change – First Lady, Patience Jonathan throws jibe at APC

The First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, has charged women in the country to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, stressing that any woman who votes for All Progressives Congress, APC, is an enemy of herself.

Dame Jonathan, at Orerokpe, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, at the PDP Women for Change Initiative Presidential Rally in the state, while applauding the benevolence of the PDP administration to women in the country, cited the Youth Enterprise With Innovation in Nigeria, YouWin and Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme, SUREP, as some of the empowerment programmes the President Jonathan administration was using to empower women and youths in the country.

She said: “The PDP is a party that talks less and does more, unlike the APC that tells new lies every week. When you catch them today, they will tell another lie tomorrow. We (PDP) do not tell you about change because we are not bus conductors that ask for change.

“We are now in a digital age and we should reject anyone who wants to take us back to analog days. They keep saying they will do this and that. They should tell us what they have done for Nigerians while in office. As for President Jonathan, he has vowed to do more when he is re-elected.

“President Jonathan has brought a lot of innovation and empowerment programmes for us women. This is because no one loves the Nigerian woman more than Mr. President and the best way to pay him back is by re-electing him.”

In his remark, the state governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, while applauding the developmental achievements of President Jonathan, said: “When someone does well in office, you should return that person to office and that is why all Deltans are prepared to re-elect President Jonathan as President, come March 28.”

Woman With Three Breasts Speaks Out on The Challenges of Having Extra Tits (Photos)

The woman with three breasts, Jasmine Tridevil has spoken for the first time since she stunned the world by revealing her third boob.

The wannabe pop star may be the first woman in the world to have an artificially inplanted  third breast after She appeared in news outlets throughout the world in 2014 and claims the surgery changed her life.

She says the medic took tissue from her abdomen and used it to fashion the third breast - a procedure commonly used for normal breast enhancements.

Now, she has hired a camera crew to follow her around Tampa, Florida, documenting the 'struggles' she faces as a three-breasted woman.

Jasmine said:
“I know my breasts are real and I do not care what anybody thinks. Getting a third breast was not always my plan - I just had the idea two years ago. People always have something to say they will criticize it or will love it and ask for a picture but the reactions are not always positive. If I go to a park where there are children parents will give me dirty looks but if I go to a bar it seems like everybody loves it.”

Revealed! Wizkid and Skales drank together 10 hours before Twitter spat

Music pundits in the country strongly believe that the Wizkid and Skales Twitter spat yesterday is a planned and well executed PR stunt.

This belief is hinged on the fact that multiple eye witnesses have revealed that they saw both stars partying together just hours before venting anger at each other on social media.

The former label mates even drank together on the same table at the GATP (Grill At The Penthouse) event which held in Lagos at Mega Plaza on Sunday, February 22, 2015.

Reliable entertainment personalities like Mavin Records’ A&R manager, Bizzle Oshikoya popularly known as Bizzle in the entertainment industry, tweeted saying: ‘@youngskales & @wizkidayo never hespered hit (expected it). Saw both of dem last night on d same table at GATP. Cc Daddy @BankyW.‘

Just like Bizzle, Cool FM OAP, N6 also tweeted: ‘TBH I saw it coming.. To think we was all together last nite at GATP. #Peace #Love.’

Others random Twitter users who happened to have been at the event have also joined in the discussion as well and it remains to be seen to what end whoever came up with the idea of a spat hopes to achieve.

Tension Raises In Bayelsa As Trigger-Happy Police Officer Shoots Ijaw Youth Leader

Tension seems to be rising among members of the Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide, the umbrella body of Ijaw youths, over the shooting of their leader in Kombowei clan, Bayelsa State, by a trigger-happy policeman.

The leader, Mr. Bekikeme Dike, was allegedly shot in the neck at a police checkpoint at Igbogene area of the state in the late hours of Sunday.

It was learnt that Dike fell into a coma (though some mistook him for a dead man) after the shooting.

Though the reason for the shooting could not be ascertained, claims and counter claims have characterised the incident.

But a source, who craved anonymity, said the police corporal, who opened fire on Dike’s vehicle, claimed the IYC leader refused to stop for search when he was flagged down.

But the Bayelsa State Command said the policeman that carried out the shooting targeted the tyre of the victim’s vehicle.

The Bayelsa Police Command have therefore released a statement released by on Tuesday through its Public Relations Officer, Bayelsa State, Asinim Butswat.

“On February 22, 2015, at about 1700hrs, the Anti-Crime Patrol Team of Igbogene Police Station, while conducting a routine stop-and-search duty along Igbogene-Okolobiri Road, Yenagoa, flagged down a Toyota Camry car, whose plate number was covered with a black wrapper bearing the inscription: IJAW YOUTH COUNCIL, KOMBOWEI CLAN CHAIRMAN. The driver of the Toyota Camry car refused to stop.

“A Police Corporal, having reasonable suspicion on the driver’s refusal to stop, attempted to shoot the tyre of the vehicle, but the bullet hit the neck of the driver. The victim is responding to treatment, while the Police Corporal has been arrested and detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department.”

The police said the command, however, regretted the unfortunate incident and assured members of the public that investigation was on and adequate punishment will be awarded the Corporal if found guilty.

It further advised members of IYC to be calm, saying the Command would do everything possible within its power to ensure justice for their wounded member.

But in condemning what it described as senseless and reckless shooting of its Chairman, the IYC berated the police for creating the impression that Dike refused to stop at a checkpoint.

In a statement by its spokesman, Eric Omare, the IYC said, “Contrary to the false impression created by the Nigeria Police in their press statement that Mr. Bekikeme Dike refused to stop at the check point, Dike, who was with his fiancée when one of the police officers asked him to stop did so obediently.

“He did not pose any danger to the life of the police officer. It was while he was driving away from the check point having been asked to do so by the said officer that another police officer who shot him asked him to stop. He simply told him that he had been asked to go and the officer suddenly shot at him. In any case, from the police press statement it is obvious that Dike was with an identifiable vehicle as the vehicle plate number bears the inscription ‘IYC, Kombowei Clan Chairman’, hence there was no reason for the police officer to have shot him.”
The IYC also said contrary to the wrong impression created by the police that the victim was responding to treatment, the victim was in critical condition.

“He is in a very critical state and would require a high level medical attention in some of the best hospitals in the world with the best facilities possibly for him to survive,” the group said.

“We still don’t know how many people were affected. We are waiting for the fire to be put out before we can have a figure of casualty,” he added.

Iwobi: I Have Made the Right Decision to Play for Nigeria

Former England youth international Alex Iwobi is satisfied with his decision to play for Nigeria despite having to wait until March to make his debut for his birth country.

Iwobi’s father, Chuka, says the entire family cannot wait to start watching the Arsenal FC midfielder in the “green-white-green” colours of Nigeria.

Iwobi traveled to Gabon with the Nigeria U-23 national team at the weekend, but could not feature in the 4-1 All-Africa Games qualifying win as the NFF has yet to receive clearance from Fifa for his switch of national allegiance.

The 18-year-old to the BBC he “understands he has to wait.” While the 7 March reverse against Gabon is deemed too soonfor his awaited debut pending completion of paper works, NFF spokesman Ademola Olajire is optimistic Iwobi could feature for the Super Eagles against Bolivia in Uyo.
“We’ve already started working on his application and a couple of players for a nationality switch,” Olajire told BBC.

“We are doing everything possible to sort this so that he will be eligible to play for Nigeria hopefully in the friendly against Bolivia on March 26.”

Iwobi has represented England at Under-16, 17 and 18 levels. The Lagos-born ace captains Arsenal’s Under-21 side and scored eight times in 35 appearances for the north London club at various youth levels last season.

“He turned out for England at U-16, U-17 and U-18 levels in a number of friendlies and invitational tournaments, but we are all eager for him to play for Nigeria at senior level,” Anambra State native, Chuka, a lawyer, told the NFF official website.

“I can’t believe the publicity that he has amassed over the past weeks. You open the papers and they are talking about Alex, and also on the radio. It’s amazing.”

The teenager, who is nephew of ex-Nigeria skipper, Jay-Jay Okocha, was named in Arsenal’s substitute bench for the Uefa Champions League Match Day 6 clash with Galatasaray in November.

Have you been heartbroken before?
Heartbreak is something that has to do with an individual, if you think your heart can be broken then it can be broken. When did you start dating? I started dating when I was 23-years-old, but it was a queen relationship. It`s not something based on mundane things and all that, it was just a matured relationship but I am not going to say much about it.
Did the relationship last for so long?
Not really long. Did you have s*x during the relationship? I am still a virg-in. I lost my guy to the cold hands of death but recently I found someone else and we are getting married soon.

How were you able to overcome intimate urge while in the university?

(Laughs) Listen, my dad taught us good morals. My father is an army officer, so I fear him a lot. In fact, I respect him a lot. He is not everywhere but he keeps his eyes on us. Even when I went abroad, he was not there but I didn’t misbehave. While I was in the hostel he was not there with me but the good morals he taught us have kept me till date.
As a virg-in, how were you able to cope with temptations here and there?
Actually, that side of me is dead until I get married. Aside avoiding pre-marital s*x, I am also a born again Christian and I fear God a lot. I can remember while we were growing up we had that lesson about sexually transmitted diseases and the fear of all those things really kept me away from s*x. So, if I must have a relationship we must enter into agreement of no s*x. It has to be a smooth relationship but if you feel you can’t wait and you’re so much in a hurry or your body is inching you, then propose. I have all those things in mind but thank God I have found someone who proposed. So, as a married woman, I’ll be free to do it and know I am not committing any sin.

Yes. I was attracted to him because of the fact that he’s born again, spoils me with gifts and puts my needs before his own.
s*x and money, which is more important to you in a relationship?
I know nothing about s*x, I’m a virg-in. Money is more important to me in a relationship.

DAMILOLA AGBAJOR
She emerged Miss Nigeria in 2010 at age 19. In one of her interviews during her reign, she insisted that she is a virg-in.:

You have a boyfriend?
No, I don‘t.
Why?
One of the reasons for such is that considering my age, I think I‘m too young for that and also I really don’t need one now. I still have more time to make the right choices. So if she has lost her virgin-ity, you know she lost it after her reign but she hasn’t said she has lost it.

Fayose spending Ekiti money on anti-Buhari campaign – APC

The All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State has accused Governor Ayodele Fayose of mismanaging the state fund by spending on non-profitable ventures including the hate campaign against its presidential candidate, Gen. Muhamadu Buhari (retd.).

The party said the Governor was only trying to divert the attention of Nigerians from his alleged fraudulent victory as revealed in the leaked audio tape.

It said the money Fayose was spending on his hate campaign could have been channeled towards productive activities for the benefit of Ekiti people.

In a statement by the state Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun, the APC berated the governor for lack of focus on development issues.

It stressed that, “For the past four months, he (Fayose) had busied himself with debts profile of the state, while not forthcoming on the balances and refunds made to the state by the Federal Government.”

Olatubosun added that what Fayose was doing was the usual fraudulent antics allegedly associated with his administration to whip public sentiments against real issues of development and transparent management of state resources.

“He knows with General Muhammadu Buhari as the President, that will be the end of impunity and fraud through which he was declared the governor. He knows he can’t survive the revelations contained in the tape when Buhari becomes the President. That is why he wants General Buhari dead.

“We know Fayose very well. He will go to any length in his hate campaign wishing Buhari dead. But he will not succeed. The‎ spirits of Nigerians that desire change in their lives are stronger than Fayose’s selfish spirit whose only wish among millions of Ekiti is to build an empire around himself with stupendous wealth while Ekiti people beg him for crumbs from his table,” Olatubosun said.

The party warned Fayose against wasting Ekiti money on anti-Buhari campaign, including hiring agents trailing Buhari around the world, saying‎ that it was criminal to be spending the state resources for personal ambition and safety.

“Governor Fayose is taking his hate campaign against General Buhari to the level of personal agenda far and above the collective agenda of Ekiti people for good governance and development of the state. If Fayose had taken the issues of development seriously as he is doing in his hate campaign against Buhari, the effects could have been felt in many areas that are germane to ‎the state development,” Olatubosun added.

Ekiti Police arrest 110 escaped inmates

The Ekiti Police Command has rearrested no fewer than 110 escaped inmates from the Federal Prison, Ado Ekiti, on December 1, following gunmen attack.

The Commissioner of Police, Taiwo Lakanu, also revealed that 30 suspected armed robbers had been arrested.

A statement in Ado Ekiti on Monday by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Albert Adeyemi, said the command had set up various structures that had given room for constant patrol and clampdown on criminal hideouts.

These, he said, included provision of hotlines to residents, establishment of more pin down/flash points in the remote and developing areas, introduction of foot patrol in remote areas not motorable and constant raids of criminal hideouts.

Lakanu said, “We are determined to tackle crime and criminality headlong in the State. We have put in place many strategies which include ensuring that the residents armed themselves with the numbers of the CP and other personnel to enable quick reach when in distress.

“All these techniques have resulted in various arrests of armed robbers, burglars and other miscreants, the police cells are now overwhelmed by the number of the arrests so far made,” he said.

The CP added that the resultant effects of the new efforts gave rise to the high level of arrest of suspected criminals and escapee inmates.

He commended Ekiti State government and the Inspector General of Police, Mr Suleiman Abba for donating patrol vans to the command, saying it had helped in tackling cases of robbery and other associated crimes in the State.

Lagos Court Frees Babalakin over ₦4.7billion Fraud

A Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja has discharged the Chairman of Bi-Courtney Limited, Dr. Wale Babalakin, charged with N4.7bn fraud.

Also freed of the alleged crime by Justice Lateef Lawal-Akapo on Monday were Babalakin’s co-defendants: Alex Okoh, Stabilini Vision Limited, Bi-Courtney Limited and Renix Nigeria Limited.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had filed 27 counts bordering on conspiracy, retention of proceeds of criminal conduct and corruptly conferring benefit on account of public action against Babalakin and the others.

The allegation of the anti-graft agency was that the accused fraudulently assisted the convicted former Delta State Governor, James Ibori, to siphon public funds into foreign accounts.

But Lawal-Akapo, in his judgment, on Monday dismissed the charges by the EFCC for want of competence.

I met Buhari on Saturday — Ex-British Prime Minister,Tony Blair

A former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, has confirmed that he held a private meeting with the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Muhammadu Buhari, in London on Saturday.

There has been speculations in Nigeria that a picture showing Messrs. Blair, Buhari and Governor Amosun as well as a former Kwara state governor, Bukola Saraki, was photoshopped.

Mr. Buhari’s campaign office had stated that the former head of state was in the U.K. on a working visit.

However, Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state and supporters of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, are claiming that Mr. Buhari is in the UK for medical treatment.

To buttress their claim, some of the critics claimed Mr. Blair was not in the U.K. on Saturday and could therefore not have met Mr. Buhari.

Newsmen on Monday contacted the office of Mr. Blair for confirmation and we got a response that the meeting actually held.

“Mr. Blair had a private meeting with General Muhammadu Buhari in London,” said Rianne Buter in an email response.

Ms. Buter also said Mr. Blair “hopes to visit Nigeria shortly when he will see the President”.

Mr. Buhari’s campaign office also issued a statement saying the APC candidate “would hopefully give a talk at the prestigious foreign policy hub, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, Chatham House, in London.”

Chatham House has now confirmed that Mr. Buhari will speak Thursday on the topic: “Prospects for Democratic Consolidation in Africa: Nigeria’s Transition”.

Details of the event as posted on the website of Chatham House also revealed that Mr. Buhari would speak for one hour between 10 and 11a.m. and the event would be chaired by Richard Gozney, the British High Commissioner to Nigeria between 2004 and 2007.

Chatham House encourages interested persons to send questions to Mr. Buhari via Twitter.
“Send questions for the speaker by using #CHAfrica on Twitter. A selection will be put to him during the event,” it said

A study conducted by Edison Research in May 2014 found that 1.7 percent of the total time Americans spend listening to audio was spent listening to podcasts.

Podcasters have an opportunity to discuss niche topics of interest, and podcasts often become labors of love for many entrepreneurs. When time and effort are put in, podcasts can truly take off and monetize quite well.

Here five steps to successfully launch a podcast:

1. Start with a mission.

Just like anything else in business, a podcast should be underlaid with a specific purpose.

For example, Itamar Zur and Idan Hershko, co-founders of the successful year-old podcast series Startup Camel, began with the mission of showcasing the exciting high-tech scene in Israel to the world. Driven by this purpose, each show gives an inside look at budding Israeli startups.

Passion is a good place to start when looking for a mission. After feeling lost about the direction of his career, Dan Feld started Prologue Profiles, a podcast series that interviews young entrepreneurs about their success.

“Make a show that you want to listen to,” Feld suggests. “If you're feeling it, others will feel it too.”

2. Craft a clever name.

With the overall mission of the podcast in mind, brainstorm names for the show. The name of the show should grab the target audience’s attention and be relevant to what the show is about. Ironic or clever names can help to show the flavor and personality of the podcast.

“While the name is important, don’t let it hold the show back," Hershko says. "If finding the perfect name is a struggle, go with the best brainstormed option and start the show. Execution is more important than perfection.”

3. Secure interesting interviews.

The best way to attract listeners to a new podcast is through interviews with relevant and compelling interviewees. But securing quality interviews can be difficult for a startup podcast.

To overcome this problem, the people behind Startup Camel tapped into their personal and professional networks, asking their friends and contacts for favors. After a few interviews with big-name startups and professionals, the show took off.

If possible, in-person interviews are better than those conducted over the phone or Internet. Face-to-face interviews not only improve the audio quality, but they also help the interviewee feel more comfortable and be more engaged and personable in the conversation.

Before publishing an episode, Zur suggests sharing the edited interview with the guest and asking for their feedback.

“This way the interviewees become part of the creation process, which makes them want to share something that they've also worked on,” he says. “This method has proven highly successful and saves us money otherwise spent on paid media.”

Influential interviewees can organically spread the word by sharing the podcast with their followers on Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms.

“A good chunk of traffic comes from the people who I interview, as they share it with their networks,” says Mario Schulzke, founder of IdeaMensch, a community that features interviews with entrepreneurs. “Make it easy for them to do just that, especially via social media. Give them soundbites from their own interviews to share.”

4. Produce high-quality audio.

Getting featured on the iTunes New and Noteworthy podcast list is key for a show to gain listeners, downloads and recognition. One of the ways to assure not getting on the list is to deliver poor quality audio. Not only should the content of each episode be interesting and valuable to listeners, but the technical aspects of the podcast need to be top notch, as well.

“Learn how to edit,” Feld says. “A show that has at least some level of production value and that shows a respect for the listener will help you stand out in the crowd.”

Startup Camel, for example, features fun musical interludes throughout each episode.

The audio should be clear and videos should be well lit. Audio and video edits should be clean and professional.

To attract listeners, content should also be created and uploaded with search engine optimization in mind.

“Optimize your content for search engines, especially as it relates to the names of the people you interview,” Schulzke suggests. “This won't drive a lot of traffic in the short run but can be a huge part of your traffic in the long term.”

5. Attract sponsors.

Once the podcast gets rolling with active listeners and regular downloads, the next step for many podcasters is to monetize the show so it can grow. Corporate sponsorships can help fund the project, bring in more listeners and make owners a profit.

With a strong following, sponsors will be eager to partner with the show to spread the word about their products or services. Sponsorships typically require the host to talk about the sponsor’s product or service at the beginning, middle or end of the show. When choosing sponsors, pick those that resonate with listeners and appeal to their interests.

We’ll be involved in 2015 elections – Army

The Nigerian Army said on Thursday that it would be involved in the 2015 general elections based on the provisions of the law, just as it warned political thugs to steer clear from the exercise.

The 2 Brigade Commander/Sector 2 Joint Task Force, Operation Pulo Shield, Brigadier General Koko Essien, who made this remark in Port Harcourt while speaking with newsmen, said the military and other security agents will not condone any act of political thuggery during the exercise.

Essien observed the level volatility in the security situation in Rivers State and disclosed that the military was strategising to ensure that the 2015 election was conducted without hitch.

He urged the people of the state to feel free to come out and exercise their franchise on the day of election, promising that adequate security measures would be put in place.

“We will be involved in the election to the extent that is allowed by law. We are having meeting with INEC and we are going to support INEC based on the requirement of the law. We are going to support the police based on the areas they (police) are lacking. If the law says we are not going to be at the polling booths, we will not be there.

“We have had incidences of political thuggery. Different political groups have carried out certain actions that are inimical to the smooth conduct of the upcoming elections. Besides that, there has been some increase in the level of kidnapping on our waterways and sea piracy of course.

“So, we are seeing a trend whereby there is a lot of volatility in the security situation in Rivers State and we are doing everything and strategising to make sure things work in the state.

“First of all, to make sure that people are able to live and go about their businesses and secondly, to reassure the population that come March 28 and April 11, 2015, people should feel very free to vote the candidates of their choice.

“The security services and specifically, the military will not condone any act of political thuggery or any action by anybody in the state aimed at frustrating well-meaning citizens from going out to vote during the elections.

“On the elections, we have a mandate to support for the election to provide security both on land and on the waterways based on the provisions of the constitution. We will do everything within our means to ensure that people are safe and vote without intimidation,” Essien, who recently assumed his current position, said.

Lil Wayne finally opens up about Cash Money lawsuit

Lil Wayne says his beef with Birdman is nothing that a good blunt can’t cure. Photo: Filed

Lil Wayne speaks for the very first time since filing a $51 million lawsuit against Cash Money. In an interview with Rolling Stone, the Young Money boss shed some light on his highly publicized fallout with Birdman.

While he once considered the Cash Money founder a father figure, the two are no longer on speaking terms. ‘I have no words,’ Wayne tells the magazine. ‘I’m super-numb to it, to tell you the truth.’

But he admits that the lawsuit has taken a toll on him. ‘I’m human,’ says Wayne. ‘But it’s nothing that a good blunt can’t cure.’

He finished recording ‘Tha Carter V’ some months ago, but a release date still looms. ‘It’s super-done,’ he reveals. ‘Cake baked, icing on top, name on top, candles lit. I would have released it yesterday if I could. But it’s a dead subject right now. It’s a jewel in the safe. It’s that stash-house money.’

He enjoys younger artists like Rae Sremmurd and Migos, but admits that his age is starting to show. ‘Sometimes I don’t know what the hell they’re talking about on Instagram,’ he laughs. When that occurs, he turns to his 16-year-old daughter,‎ Reginae: ‘I had to call her, like, ‘What the hell is ‘on fleek’?’

Wayne previously announced plans to retire after Tha Carter V, but he’s having second thoughts. ‘I’ve thought about it,’ he says. ‘But for a person like me that bleeds, eats, sleeps, and shits music, it’s hard to do.’

Married Women Take to The Streets to Protest Sexual Starvation

Women from the Rido community in Kaduna State, have taken to the streets to protest their husband's sexual weakness, demanding that the start performing their matrimonial duties or face a mass divorce.

The women said the chemical waste and fumes from the Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC), has made thier husband's lose sexual potency, making them unable to satisfy their women on bed.
Speaking to journalists during the protest, some married women said most men in the Mararaba Rido community suffered one form of reproductive health problem or the other due to the toxic waste from the KRPC.

They reported that their men suffer weak erection and infertility, while the women often miscarry their babies or their ovaries are affected.

A community leader, Mohammed Bashar, also pointed out:

"Most of the complaints could be associated with secondary infertility, because victims have, in the past, given birth to children before they suddenly stopped.
There was widespread belief that smoke and poisonous gases emitted from the refinery have reproductive health effect on people living in the area, but no medical report has confirmed the allegation due to inability of villagers to seek comprehensive medical tests, perhaps owing to lack of awareness and poverty."

Buhari To Address Key Members Of British Political Establishments While In UK – APC Campaign

The Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Thursday jetted out of the country via the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, to the United Kingdom on a working visit.

A statement from his campaign office said in the course of this visit, Buhari would hold meetings with key members of the British political establishment and interact with some global institutions with stakeholder interest in the affairs of Nigeria.

The Director of Media and Publicity, APC Presidential Campaign Organisation, Malam Garba Shehu, said, “General Buhari will hopefully give a talk at the prestigious foreign policy hub, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, Chatham House in London”.

Meanwhile, the APCPCO has said that it has evidence that a top management staff of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) is behind the hate campaigns against Gen. Buhari and his family aired in the recent documentary by African Independent Television and Nigeria Television Authority.

The campaign organization said it has confirmed that the agency was the sponsor of all the dirty campaigns against the APC presidential candidate on AIT, NTA and several other media platforms.

While saying that the action contravenes the NIMASA Act, the Public Service Regulations, and the Independent National Electoral Commission Act 2010 as amended, among others, Shehu decried the situation where a government agency uses public funds to sponsor a campaign of calumny against its candidate, which it said is not only illegal, but should also be condemned.

He said that the action should be investigated by the Joint Committees of the National Assembly on Marine Transportation, stressing that if these claims were found to be true, disciplinary action should be taken against the agency and its leadership.

The statement said: “It is a well-known fact that the Director General of the Agency, Mr. Ziakede Patrick Akpobolokemi was President Goodluck Jonathan’s and a well-known ex-militant’s errand boy.

“He was appointed there for the sole aim of satisfying an ex-militant’s camp, an assignment he has carried out well to the satisfaction of those who put him there through the award of a concessionaire phantom PPP project.

“Under this contract, a certain company, (Global West Vessels Specialists Ltd) was handed the legal responsibility of the Nigerian Navy of protecting the Nation’s Waterway and NIMASA’s Maritime Security function to the surprise of all industry observers and yet fail woefully in offering the necessary protection for the theft of Nigerian Crude Oil, which has only increased since then among other sea related crimes”.

I’ll Release My Players For Nigeria — Wenger

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has assured President, Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Pinnick, that he will not stop Nigerian players in his team from representing their native country if they so desired.

He also pledged not to stop Chuba Akpom and Semilore Ajayi from honouring invitations from Nigeria whenever they are called up.

After the meeting, the NFF president, who was accompanied by the new special envoy for the federation on International Affairs, Tunde Adelakun, said: “As we had always known, Arsene is very knowledgeable; vast in his knowledge and appreciation of Nigeria as a football playing country, and widely philosophical in his general approach.

“He told me that he has never stopped any player from opting for whichever national team he wants. He said to me that he always tells his players to follow their hearts and not allow people to push them.

“He further assured that if Nigeria extended a call-up to either or both of his players, he will have no objection if the players say they want to go”.

Pinnick had led the charge to Arsenal to enlist Wenger’s support in “the process of rebuilding the country’s football” and he was not disappointed.

“Arsene told us that he will gladly do what he can to assist where we want, and has already started giving encouraging signs towards the capacity building exercises for our coaches at all levels,” he added.

REVEALED: 'Jonathan bribed pastors with ₦7 Billion, not ₦6 Billion'

A Borno-based Pastor, Kallamu Musa-Dikwa, said on Thursday that the money that was given to pastors by the President was actually N7bn and not N6bn as alleged by Amaechi, who doubles as the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Organisation.

Amaechi had alleged that unnamed leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party paid N6bn to Christian clerics to campaign against Buhari and the APC.

The governor’s allegation caused a stir among the Christian clerics, with the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and the Northern State Christian Elders Forum asking Amaechi to name the church leaders, who collected the huge bribe.

But Musa-Dikwa, who is the Executive Director of the Voice of Northern Christian Movement, told journalists in Kaduna on Thursday that the said money was channelled through the Christian Association of Nigeria.

He said the CAN got the said money(N7bn) on January 26, 2015 and disbursed N3m to each State Chairmen of the CAN across the country.

Musa-Dikwa, who was an Associate Pastor with the E. Y. N. Church, Farm Centre, Dikwa Road, Maiduguri, Borno State, under Rev. Emmanuel Kwajihe between 2002 and 2004, said the CAN had started threatening Christians in the state (Borno) that they must re-elect Jonathan in the rescheduled election.

He said, “It was N7bn that was given to the CAN leadership by President Goodluck Jonathan. They(CAN) later disbursed N3m to the State Chairmen of the CAN.

“The money was handed over to the CAN Leadership on 26th January, 2014.”

“Actually, President Jonathan is using CAN President, and it was the CAN President who collected the monies and shared N3m to the CAN executives in each state.

“And some Pentecostal Bishops also collected their share. Actually, the money is not N6bn, it is N7bn. This is what I know. One of the CAN officials from Abuja told me that they have collected the money. The corruption in CAN is terrible. They are corrupting the body of Christ because of money.

“They are now threatening Christians in Borno State that they will deal with anybody, who refuses to vote for Jonathan. And the CAN officials are now campaigning that if Buhari emerges President, he will Islamise Nigeria; and that Osinbajo collected monies from Islamic world; and that the same Osinbajo will resign soon after Buhari wins to give way for Tinubu to emerge Vice President.”

Musa-Dikwa named some high-profile clerics, who had benefitted from the controversial largesse to actualise the re-election bid of Jonathan.

Angry Bride Marries Wedding Guest After Groom has Epilepsy Seizure Mid-Ceremony

An Indian bride has married a guest at her wedding after her groom-to-be had a seizure and collapsed.

Reports said the groom, Jugal Kishore, was epileptic and he had kept the information from the bride, Indira, and her family.

While Mr Kishore was taken to hospital, the angry bride decided to switch husbands.

She asked a member of her brother-in-law's family, who was a guest, to step in and marry her instead. He agreed.

The incident took place in Rampur town in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

According to a report in The Times of India, Mr Kishore, 25, fell to the ground in front of the wedding guests just as he was reaching out to garland Indira.

On his return from the hospital, Mr Kishore pleaded with Indira to change her mind, telling her that he would be ridiculed by friends and relatives if he went home without a bride, but she refused.

Local police official Ram Khiladi Solanki told the BBC that Mr Kishore and his family were initially upset and lodged a complaint with the police.

"But since the bride is already married now, what can anyone do? So the families have resolved the matter and the complaint has been withdrawn," he added.

We’re Profiling Thugs, People With Questionable Character Before Polls – DSS

The State Security Services said on Wednesday that it was profiling political thugs and people with questionable characters across the country ahead of the general elections.

The spokesperson of the SSS, Marilyn Ogar, disclosed this while fielding questions at a news conference organised by the National Information Centre.

Ms. Ogar said suspected thugs would be arrested before the general election.

“There is profiling of those whose presence in certain areas cannot be easily and immediately explained.

“We profile all people with questionable character and before the election, they are taken in,” Ms. Ogar said.

On the incessant political thuggery in Rivers, the SSS’ spokeswoman said the service was investigating it.

“We are investigating. So, whatever happened will not go covered.

“Once you observe a new face, unexplained movement of people you do not know or sudden business concern cropping up around you, alert the security agencies”, she said.

Man Sets Wife on Fire in Imo State over Valentine's Day Cheating

The Imo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Andrew Enwerem, has confirmed that a 45-year-old man, Uche Ubanwa, a native of Umuahiami Afara in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State did the unthinkable by setting his wife, Ugochi, on fire after a domestic quarrel.

Reports of the ugly incident states that Ugochi was sleeping when her husband poured petrol on her and set her ablaze before handing himself to the police.

The couple were said to have been having issues and had engaged in a heated argument following a disagreement on Valentine’s Day. Mr Ubanwa accused his wife of going out to have sex with her boy friend on Valentines day.

A family source was quoted as saying:

"The woman was sleeping when the husband set her ablaze having poured fuel on her. Even though everybody knows that Ugochi has been sleeping around, Uche should have just sent her back to her parents instead of burning her alive "

That action incensed the deceased kinsmen from the nearby from Ekwe autonomous community in Isu Njaba local government area, who stormed Ubanwa's village on revenge mission.

The angry youths destroyed property and houses which are reported to be worth millions of naira and it took the intervention of the police to quell the violence that ensued.

The suspect is in police custody, while investigation is currently ongoing.

“Over 300 terrorists were killed while a few were also captured,” defence spokesman Chris Olukolade said in an emailed statement.

Native Doctors Storm Imo Govt House For Cleansing Over Alleged Coffin

Native doctors and traditional rulers yesterday stormed the Imo Government House, Owerri to perform what they described as exorcism of evil spirits, saying they came to cleanse the state of the curse placed by widows who protested last Tuesday.

The libation-pouring exercise, which began at the main gate of the Government House, was presided over by traditional rulers mainly from the Governor Rochas Okorocha’s community of Ideato South.

According to TheNationalMirror, the monarchs alleged that the Minister of State for Education, Prof Viola Onwuliri, mobilised the widows who were brutalised in the course of their protest march against the governor.

Chairman of Ideato Council of Traditional Rulers, Ajaraogu of Ogwume Community, Eze Ethelbert,
said he and the entire council of Ndi Eze in the council area had earlier visited the traditional ruler of Amuzi in Ahiazu Mbaise, Eze Innocent Ugochukwu, to warn their daughter, Onwuliri, and her group against contending with the governor.

Eze Ajaraogu stated that they came to the Government House to neutralise whatever evil the action of the widows may have attracted, as they jointly poured libation to cleanse the Douglas House.

Pouring the libation, they prayed for divine guidance and protection of Okorocha saying, “Our son, Owelle Okorocha, you did not cheat anyone to come to Government House but were duly elected by the entire Imo people, so no one will hurt you. Fear not, your people are with you and you shall return,” he chanted.

Also, the deputy chairman, Eze Peter Ewuziem of Umuakam noted that for over 40 years he has been on the throne, “this is the first time anyone would carry a coffin to the domain of either civilian or military leader; any person who planned this evil must receive it back.”

However, one of the brutalised widows maintained that she was part of the protest march and no coffin was on display. She said, “Who would carry the coffin, is it the old women? There was no coffin anywhere, but if they insist they saw a coffin, then perhaps their gods may be giving them a sign of doom.”

Meanwhile, Mrs Onwuliri has called on the governor to apologise to the widows for encouraging young men to “attack and beat up their mothers.”

She said, “Even in the Bible, there is a curse attached to such atrocity and whoever may have participated or engineered the attack on harmless widows, who merely engaged in a peaceful protest, cannot go unpunished.”

2015 ELECTIONS: INEC chairman, Attahiru Jega summoned by senate

The senate on Tuesday summoned the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof Attahiru Jega, to appear before it Wednesday on his level of his agency’s preparedness towards the forthcoming general elections.

The decision was taken following a motion by the senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba, who noted that there was the need for Jega to brief the senators and demonstrate the use of the card readers.

The Minority Leader, Senator George Akume, also suggested that the three service chiefs who engineered the postponement of the polls from February 14, be equally invited.

However, while Senate President David Mark, was ruling on the motion and the voice vote approval of the senators, said the invitation of service chiefs would be determined by Jega’s submission on Wednesday.

Mark therefore directed the INEC boss to appear before the senate in plenary Wednesday by 11.00am.

Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson, speaks on why she quit some movie roles. In a recent interview with Punch, the actress who is married to Prince Odianosen Okojie said that her husband is jealous and so she had  to stop doing certain romantic roles.
Read excerpts after the cut.

She said

"My Husband wasn’t comfortable with the romantic scenes. I stopped taking up such roles in 2009 when I realised we were getting serious and headed for marriage.
I was so in love with him that I started adjusting my lifestyle and personality to suit him. He is enlightened and well-travelled. He understands the demands of my job and has no problems with my career. He simply gives me space to fly."

"A lot of people asked me this question when I was getting married but at that point in my life, there was nothing too big to let go, even now. I am willing to let go of everything to be with him and be happy.

I am not in competition with anybody. I want to be married, I want to be with a man, just the way God has asked it be. I don’t want to take his role as a helper. He is an introvert and can stay at home all day when he isn’t working but I am the extrovert and we complement each other perfectly".

UPDATE: Ex-President Obasanjo Finally Dumps PDP, Tears Membership Card In Public

Few days after he accused President Goodluck Jonathan of orchestrating a tenure elongation plot, which he dubbed the “Gbagbo treatment”, ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo has dumped the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying he is no longer interested in partisan politics as he is now a statesman.

Although this is a developing story, there are reports the ex-president allegedly tore his PDP membership card in public.

You may recall that the Presidency and PDP had made various attempts to appease Obasanjo to no avail, which led to speculations that the ex-president may be suspended for anti-party activities.

Perhaps his dumping of the ruling party is a pre-emptive move.

Details later…

***UPDATE***

According to Daily Trust report, Obasanjo handed over his PDP membership card to the leader of his Ward 11, in Abeokuta North local government, Alhaji Surajudeen Oladunjoye and instructed him to tear it.

Oladunjoye, who led about 350 members of the ward on a fact-finding mission to the ex-president’s residence, tore the card into shreds to the admiration of the party followers, some of whom also tore their cards in solidarity.

Addressing members of the press in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, Mr. Obasanjo said if his involvement in partisan politics would stop him from having a better Nigeria, then he is ready to sacrifice membership of the PDP and become a statesman.

The former Nigerian leader, who was responding to questions on rumours to expel him from the ruling party, directed his aide to get his membership card and few minutes after he was given, threw it away, declaring that “if this is why we cannot have the Nigeria we desire, I am no longer part of this”.

Obasanjo ruled Nigeria from 1999 to 2007 for two terms of eight years on the platform of PDP. He had previously led the country as a military head of state from 1976 to 1979 before he voluntarily handed-over power to a civilian president, Alhaji Shehu Shagari.

Domestic Assistants Attempts to Poison Ex beauty Queen Ibidunni Ighodalo

Three domestic staffs to Pastor Ituah Ighodalo of Trinity House Church have been dragged before a Lagos Magistrate Court sitting in Tinubu, in Lagos state, for attempting to murder Ibidunni Ighodalo, the Ex beauty queen wife of Pastor Ituah through poison.

The accused Akeem Makinde-Ewuosi, Abdulkareem Mohammed and Paul Eke has been charged for conspiracy and attempted murder.

The prosecutor in the case, Chidi Okoye, said the attempt to murder the former beauty queen and the brain behind Elizabeth R, an upscale event management company, took place between January 28 and February 10, 2015, at the family's residence at 4b Ogun Street, Osborne Foreshore Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos.
He added that it was the same poisonous substance was used to poison the pastor's dog, Simba, sometime ago.

Okoye alleged that Mohammed had confessed that he had sexual fantasies towards the very pretty Ibidun Ighodalo, and in his warped mind, planned to kill her husband after killing the dog, so that the affection she has for her husband and the dog will be transferred to him but the culprits were apprehended after Ighodalo said she “prayed and the Holy Spirit revealed” to her that something was wrong.

When they were confronted, they allegedly confessed to the crime of poisoning the dog and also planning to get rid of her.

Mohammed allegedly confessed that he got a black soap and powder from the herbalist who asked him to buy a sponge, bath with it and throw it into the river.

According to Okoye, the native doctor had assured Mohammed that after the bath, he would be able to demand for N10m and any other thing he wanted from Ighodalo and she would give them to him.

The case was adjourned to March 18, 2015.
