Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi, has awarded a university scholarship to a fan, Aleshinloye-King Oluwapelumi, to celebrate his birthday.
A 100 level Anatomy student of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Oluwapelumi ((Twitter handle @Sugarplumalexis) was the lucky winner of a contest put out by Onazi on Twitter, africanFootball.com reports.
The elated lady, who also went home with a prize money of a 100,000 naira, has thanked Onazi for the gesture and called on other celebrities to emulate the Lazio midfielder and help the needy.
“I won Onazi’s 100,000 naira prize in a contest on Twitter. I am elated because it wasn’t something that I expected. It was just act of God to me,” she told africanFootball.com
“I won the contest because I was selfless and out of the money I paid tithe in church and spent the remaining on my family which needed it more.
“Apart from the money, I got a scholarship offer from him for my university education all through provided I have good grades. I am in the University already, a 100 level Anatomy student of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye.
“I thank Onazi for this gesture, this is what other celebrities should do to help the society, this is humanitarian service at its best.”
