Fire outbreaks in Marina, Kirikiri

A massive fire outbreak have consumed parts of Lagos which included Marina, Kirikiri – where Nigeria’s maximum prison is located – and other parts of the state.

The Lagos Fire Service and other agencies are currently engaged in a fierce battle to put off the inferno which reportedly started around 4am in one of the high-risings at the Eko/Berlin Market area.

The incident came at a time men of the Lagos State Fire Service were battling to contain a fire outbreak at three warehouses at Kirikiri area of Lagos metropolis, where inflammable products like tyres were stored.

The Director of Fire Service in the State, Mr. Rasaq Fadipe, who confirmed the incident lamented that in the last 24 hours, his men have been battling eight different fire outbreaks among which was the 12 rooms at Ilasamaja area of the city.
