REVEALED: The Truth About Muna Obiekwe's Death by His Sister

Contrary to rumors that went viral about late actor Muna Obiekwe's state of health and what actually led to his death, the real truth has been revealed. In an interview during Muna's burial on the 3rd of February at his hometown, here's what Muna's step sister, Chinwe Obiekwe, said about her brother's sudden death:
Muna was sick from October last year, 2014. It wasn't a normal kidney failure, rather a kidney failure that was prompted by high blood pressure and caused his two kidneys to suddenly fail. A high BP that was due to stress from his very busy schedule, always been
on set, and not having enough time to take his drugs properly. His family was taken unawares as he had been going for dialysis, his uncles abroad had even planned to come back to Nigeria so they can give him a transplant before Muna died that fateful Sunday.

When asked why Muna didn't seek public help or speak out publicly about his ill health, Chinwe said Muna is a private person. And again, his family was capable and very ready to take care of him. So there was practically no need for the announcement.

A pissed off Chinwe later questioned the people who have been saying they would have helped if only Muna had cried out. She said: ''What was their contribution during the burial? I will say this - ''Fuck them''!''

GEJ Assures Nigerians That There Is Hope Of Finding The Chibok Girls

Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday indicated there is hope the over 200 schoolgirls abducted from their hostel in Government Secondary School, Chibok, in Borno State will be rescued.

The girls were abducted in April 2014 while waiting to sit for their final examinations.

President Jonathan, during a media chat with a panel of journalists in Abuja said “the story (of the Chibok girls) will be better” in a few weeks.

Asking that additional time be given to the government to rescue the girls alive, the president said there is “more” hope to rescue the abducted girl especially with the collaboration from neighbouring countries.

“I believe the story of the Chibok girls will be better now that we are working with Niger, Cameroun and Chad,” Mr. Jonathan said.

Mr. Jonathan reacted to criticisms that he ignored the abduction once it was made known and went dancing at his party’s rally, saying, “I did not go partying when the Chibok girls were abducted.”

President Goodluck Jonathan only reacted to the news of the kidnap of the girls three weeks after the incident. He then set up a presidential fact-finding committee to investigate whether the girls were really abducted.

The committee, led by Ibrahim Sabo, in its report submitted in June 2014 confirmed the abduction of 276 girls. The report also said that out of the 276 girls abducted, 57 managed to escape from the Boko Haram terrorist group.

The terrorist popularly known as Boko Haram in their attempt to Islamize Nigeria have killed over 13, 000 people, displaced many others and also destroyed lots of property in the North Eastern part of Nigeria, especially, Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states.

The Nigerian government has entered an agreement with its bordering countries – Chad, Niger and Cameroun – through a Multi-National Joint Task Force, MNJTF, headquartered in Baga, Borno State, to fight terrorism which has been ravaging the country.

The terrorists have in their quest, captured many communities in the region, while the Nigerian military have also repelled some of their attacks.

Another June 12 Gathering Steam — Falana

Lagos lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Barrister Femi Falana, on Wednesday warned that disturbing developments in recent times are clear signals that democracy is about to be truncated in Nigeria as it was on 12 June,1993, when the presidential election won by MKO Abiola was annuled by military ruler, Ibrahim Babangida.

Abiola, who ran on the platform of the Social Democratic Party, defeated Bashir Tofa of the National Republican Convention, but Babangida annulled the election, leading to a crisis that ended with Sani Abacha toppling the Interim Government headed by Ernest Shonekan on 17 November, 1993.

Falana was speaking at an event sponsored by the United States Consulate in Lagos to mark the African-American History Month, an annual observance in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom for remembrance of important people and events in the history of the African diaspora.

“This morning, two former military heads of state spoke against military coup d’etat. I am saying this because the CDHR (Committee for the Defence of Human Rights) played a leading role in ensuring that we have this rickety democracy. Some of us went to jail several times against these criminals who are now trying to roll back the hand of the clock,” Falana said.

“Two of them, the Senate President said in September last year and it was well reported that ‘election is not on the table, not on the agenda now. We are fighting war.’ This fellow, Dasuki, who is canvassing for postponement, and has had his way, was Aide De Camp to Babangida. He and Mark were among the two Colonels that said over their dead bodies would Babangida hand over to Abiola. Those who plotted the June 12 annulment are back,” Falana said.

Falana added: “Those who make peaceful change impossible make violent revolutions inevitable. We are warning them, enough is enough. Our people are languishing in poverty and you say we cannot even change our oppressors.”

Falana asked rhetorically: “How can you say we cannot even excercise that right? That is the greatest violation of our rights.”

He said the election must hold and whoever wins must be allowed to govern the country.

Falana also blasted religious leaders who were said to have endorsed President Jonathan, saying “this election is not about religion. It is not about ethnicity. It is not about not having shoes. This election should also be about others who have not acquired shoes.

“We must not allow the enemies of democracy to reduce the ongoing campaign to that of ethnicity and religion.”

He added: “We need to ensure that the winner of the election will ensure that every Nigerian child has many shoes.”

The United States Consul-General in Lagos, Jeffrey Hawkins, called on Nigerians to remain peaceful and excercise their right through the power of the ballot just like it happened in America during Dr Martin Luther King’s days.

He discouraged violence and said the United States will continue to support Nigeria.

Things To Do On Valentine’s Day If You Are Single (MUST READ)

Here are some other things you can do on February 14th to celebrate the day of love.

1. Cook Yourself a Nice Meal. After spending hours at a voting center, putting together a nice meal for yourself is the next thing to do. It’s practically impossible not to feel good afterward.

2. Head To a Club. There are nice clubs out there that you can go to. Most of them are best decorated on February and their service is always at its best. Go there and enjoy your life.

3. Get yourself together. It may sound strange, but when was the last time you woke up feeling totally put together? Instead of moping about being single, use the free time you have on Valentine’s Day evening to get yourself organized. Clean up your calendar, catch up on laundry, plan ahead for major things, and get a head start on those works you’ve been avoiding. Use the day to finish (or start) something you’ve been meaning to tackle. It may sound lame at first, but you might be surprised at how good you feel after you’re done.

4. Send Love Someone Else’s Way. Studies show that kindness spreads like epidemic, so start the epidemic. Do something nice for another person. Open a door for someone who needs it, visit an elderly person, spend time with him/her, help them arrange the house. buy a rose and give it to someone random on the street, whatever you do, will make you feel full of love inside.

5. Throw a Party. If you have the money then invite your friends over to celebrate being fabulous.

6. Love Your Singleness. Think about all the marvelous benefits of being single, from not fighting over minor issues to being able to keep your living space as clean or as messy as you’d like. No unnecessary question like where are you, where have you been.
